| This small farm has a long history. There is an early record in the Registers of the Richmond Archdeaconry of William Coupestake of Alanhouse dated 1444, which may refer to this property. Certainly Alicia Sidgewicke lived there in 1675. The present house was built in 1746 and is one of the few that have retained their multi-paned windows, and has other interesting features. |
